Australian Pairs Match 2023: Results and Photos
Firstly, we must thank Jean Hills for organising a wonderful afternoon of our in-house bowls competition. It looked like everybody had a great time, win or lose and having fun with lots of banter, laughing, encouragement, smiles, and most of all plenty of enjoyment.
There were so many close games – and some not so close – but that is all part of bowls!
The scores at the end were tied with Wendy Emmett and Tim Rhodes, along with Anthony Donnelly and Mary Ryder, each having an impressive plus 14 score. On count back, Wendy and Tim had won more ends, so were declared the overall Champions, 2023. However, well done to all four of you and everybody who took part.
Congratulations to both Paul Thomas and Mike Squire
Congratulations to both Paul Thomas and Mike Squire on playing their first game for Burnham on Sea Bowling Club at home against the touring team from South Wales, Bryn Bowls Club today and both contributing very well indeed. Only to be let down by the skip on the last end, by converting one up to two down. Then the visiting skip bowling a lovely last bowl to make it three for the end, with our rink losing by one point, well done the skip Jim B but then we are known as the friendly club.
All new members are given a club shirt for playing their first game for the club.
